Job Search/Job Readiness (JS/JR) Program

The JS/JR Program provides TAFDC recipients with individualized employment assistance through extensive Job Readiness Instruction, Job Placement Assistance and Support Services.

Participants will be assigned and meet with a case manager who will develop an individualized plan for your job search, attend job readiness workshops, and visit businesses for prospective employment opportunities. Job search strategies and job development assistance will be provided.

Job Readiness Workshops Include:

  • Basic Job Search
  • Resume Writing and Cover Letters
  • Internet Job Search
  • Interviewing Techniques and Telephone Techniques
  • How to Complete Job Applications
  • Character Building
  • Dress for Success
  • JOB CLUB- a mandatory networking club for all program participants

Upon placement into employment, participants are eligible to receive Post-Employment Services to include Clothing Allowances and Gas Allowances issued in the form of financial payments to enhance the participant's job retention and self-sufficiency.

To be eligible for the JS/JR program, you must currently be receiving TAFDC benefits from the Department of Transitional Assistance (DTA) and be referred by your DTA caseworker.
